A Brief History of Shell Beach

To the north of Pismo Beach you’ll find the city of Shell Beach. Like Pismo Beach it was the home of the Chumash Tribe, and there have been many tribal artifacts and burial grounds found there. Today you’ll find many homes, restaurants, parks, secluded beaches and the Dinosaur Caves Park.

Things to see and do in Shell Beach include renting a kayak, discover the cliffs and caves, dine in fine restaurants and just take in the view. Farmer's Market is every Saturday from 9 to 1 at Dinosaur Caves Park.

Seasonal events include the Easter Egg Hunt and Art in the Park every first sunday of the month May through October. See local artists display and sell their artwork in Dinosaur Caves Park.
